Enhancing Campus Resilience: A Digital Nervous System Powered by OGC SensorThings Standards
Smart campus's resilience is demonstrated by its ability to anticipate and effectively respond to environmental events. While small-scale control systems often manage a group of specific objects, a campus demands a more sophisticated system capable of controlling a diverse range of interconnected elements. This paper proposes a system that integrates multiple subsystems into a unified architecture, functioning as a digital nervous system for the campus. Inspired by the human nervous system, this central controller can manage the entire campus. Leveraging OGC SensorThings standards, the system offers two primary sub-services: Sensing and Tasking. The proposal DNS comprehensively supports both indoor and outdoor objects as well as physical and virtual sensors.
