Efficient In-Device Coexistence Management for Wi-Fi 8
The development of the 8th generation wireless LAN for Ultra High Reliability (UHR), IEEE 802.11bn, is currently underway. Among its novel features, in-device coexistence (IDC) management is able to significantly enhance the reliability of mobile devices. This paper proposes adaptive and dynamic IDC prediction and indication methods: Adaptive IDC Management Method (AIMM), and Dynamic IDC Management Method (DIMM). AIMM leverages a machine learning algorithm for dynamic and sensitive IDC prediction, meeting the reliability requirements of IEEE 802.11bn. Complementing AIMM, DIMM is designed to mitigate inefficiencies and support AIMM in IDC prediction. The exceptional performance of both AIMM and DIMM is demonstrated through simulation.
