CLIMATE POLICY IN A MULTIPOLAR WORLD SYSTEM: THE ROLE OF LEADING PLAYERS AND REGIONAL ALLIANCES

The article examines one of the most relevant and at the same time controversial topics of world politics — the fight against climate change (global warming). The authors analyzed key academic studies on the concept of “climate leadership” in order to systematize various approaches to the concept of leadership in world politics. The existing materials on the formation of global climate policy are summarized and recommendations for adapting the Russian climate agenda in the context of external socio-political risks are developed. The article also examines the question of whether the global climate agenda is the result of the natural development of priority issues or whether it is a consciously supported initiative. The research is based on the need to increase the competitiveness of national economies in international markets, which is especially important for the Ru ssian economy.
