Influence of climate change on soil microbial community
This study explores how climate change is transforming soil microbial communities, essential drivers of soil health and ecosystem resilience. With rising temperatures, shifting rainfall, elevated CO₂ levels, and changing soil moisture, microbial habitats are under stress, altering community structure, enzyme activity, and nutrient cycles. UV radiation, soil erosion, and increased compaction add to these pressures, affecting soil stability, carbon storage, and fertility. The objective is to understand how these changes impact soil’s ability to support agriculture and carbon balance, highlighting the need for adaptive strategies to protect soil ecosystems.
