An in-vitro study on antifungal activity of Arnica montana Q, Ceanothus americanus Q, Jaborandi Q against Malassezia furfur

One kind of fungus that grows on human skin is called Malassezia. Dermatological conditions like seborrheic dermatitis, pityriasis versicolor, and Malassezia folliculitis are frequently brought on by Malassezia species. According to this study, using homeopathic medicine to treat dermatophyte infections has produced notable results.. Evaluated the growth-inhibiting properties of Ceanothus americanus Q, Jaborandi Q, and Arnica montana Q. The Malassezia furfur fungal strain was cultured by freeze-drying. First, 0.4 cc of sterile water was mixed well with the freeze-dried culture. For twenty minutes, the mixture is allowed to stand.Sabouraud dextrose agar was the medium used (SDA).Several mother tinctures were evaluated for their antifungal effectiveness using the agar diffusion method. After setting the filter paper disc in place, add the homeopathic mother tinctures.Codes E, J, A, and C follow.Put it in an aseptic setting.Following a 24-hour period, the growth inhibition zone surrounding the paper disc was assessed. The growth inhibition zone for Arnica montana Q was 11 mm, Jaborandi 12 mm, Ceanothus americanus Q 5 mm, and ethanol (negative control) 0 mm. Jaborandi Q exhibited the highest zone of inhibition of the three medications.
