Das Theologisch-Politische in der Gegenwart, oder der Messianismus der Moderne
Abstract The theological-political, usually considered an innovation by Spinoza, can be construed as a tripartite, reflexive relationship between theology, policy and philosophy in the modern age, in which those three forces are remade and realigned to remediate their respective and correlative dysfunctions. However, there is a deeper dimension to it, concerning the interaction of secularisation and religion as a specific universal mode of normativity in modern societies that cannot be reduced to individual or group preferences.
