DESIGN, MOLECULAR DOCKING, SYNTHESIS, AND In-vitro EVALUATION OF SEMICARBAZIDE THIAZOLIDINONE DERIVATIVES AS ACETYLCHOLINESTERASE AND TYROSINASE INHIBITORS
In this study, we report the design, molecular docking, synthesis, and in vitro evaluation of a novel series of Schiff base-derived semicarbazide thiazolidinones as anti-cholinesterase and antityrosinase agents for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Schrödinger software was used in conjunction with in silico tools for molecular docking studies targeting acetylcholinesterase, tyrosinase, and peroxiredoxin, as well as for determining binding free energy. The acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity of thiazolidinones was evaluated using Ellman’s test, tyrosinase inhibition assays, and antioxidant activity assessments. All derivatives displayed good docking scores and higher acetylcholinesterase and tyrosinase inhibitory action. The designed and synthesised Schiff base-derived semicarbazide thiazolidinone derivatives are potent multitargeted anti-cholinesterase and anti-tyrosinase agents.
