Volumetric Properties of Binary Liquid Systems of Pyridine and Various Glycols at 298.15–308.15 K

This article describes the volumetric properties of binary liquid systems of pyridine (PY) with ethylene glycol (EG), diethylene glycol (DG), and triethylene glycol (TG) over the entire pyridine mole fraction at T = 298.15, 303.15, and 308.15 K temperatures under atmosphere pressure. These properties include molar volume ( $${{V}_{m}}$$ ), excess molar volume ( $$V_{m}^{E}$$ ), apparent molar volumes ( $${{V}_{{m,⌀ ,1}}}$$ and $${{V}_{{m,⌀ ,2}}}$$ ), partial molar volumes ( $${{\bar {V}}_{{m,1}}}$$ and $${{\bar {V}}_{{m,2}}}$$ ), and excess partial molar volumes ( $$\bar {V}_{{m,1}}^{E}$$ and $$\bar {V}_{{m,2}}^{E})$$ . These were computed at every temperature under investigation using the experimental density values of the aforementioned binary liquid systems. The collected results were utilized to determine the nature and strength of intermolecular interactions in these mixtures. Further, excess molar volume was linked with the Redlich–Kister polynomial to determine coefficients and standard errors. At high temperatures, excess molar volume was discovered that the values were negative deviations from the ideal axis and less negative deviations at high temperature. Additionally, the impact of temperature on volumetric characteristics was also studied.
