Finite‐Region State Feedback Control for 2‐D Switched Systems With Actuator Saturation

ABSTRACT This paper aims to investigate the finite‐region stability and stabilization problems for a specific class of 2‐D switched systems in the Fornasini–Marchesini local state‐space (FMLSS) model with actuator saturation. The analysis begins by examining the finite‐region stability of the 2‐D model using mode‐dependent average dwell time (MDADT) method. The traditional state feedback control approach is then introduced to the system, and sufficient criteria are derived to ensure the resulting closed‐loop system achieves finite‐region stability. Considering that the state may be unmeasurable, an observer‐based control scheme is implemented, accompanied by explicit controller design schemes for both types of controllers. Finally, the effectiveness of the theoretical criteria is demonstrated through the presentation of two illustrative examples.
