Stres ve Kişilik Tipleriyle Karşılıklı İlişkisi

This review study examines the reciprocal relationship between stress and personality types within the context of individual differences from a theoretical perspective. Personality is a core psychological construct that enables individuals to exhibit consistent behavioral patterns in their interactions with the environment. Numerous studies in the literature emphasize that personality types significantly influence how individuals perceive and cope with stress. Particularly, personality models such as Type A, B, C, and D have shown notable effects on stress perception, psychological resilience, and mental well-being. A review of the literature suggests that individuals with Type A personality tend to experience higher stress levels due to their competitive and hurried nature, while Type B individuals adopt a more balanced and adaptable approach. Type C personalities, marked by suppressive tendencies, and Type D personalities, characterized by negative affectivity and social inhibition, are often more vulnerable to stress. This study analyzes the historical development, defining features, and stress-related characteristics of these personality types and evaluates relevant intervention strategies. The primary aim is to conceptualize how stress is experienced based on personality traits and to highlight the importance of personalized psychological support. The study offers a comprehensive perspective on how stress coping styles are shaped by personality structures. Keywords: Stress, personality types, Type A personality, Type B personality, Type C personality, Type D personality
