The significance of employing radiotherapy as a therapeutic approach for feline nasal cavity neoplasms
Radiotherapy (radiation therapy) is one of the most relevant and effective methods of treating nasal cavity tumors in cats. This is due to the anatomical inaccessibility of the area, limited surgical options, and the high sensitivity of some types of tumors to radiation. The development of oncology in animals is rapid, so early diagnosis and a well-chosen treatment regimen are important. Currently, there are several methods of treating this pathology, which include: radiation therapy, chemotherapy, surgery and palliative therapy. The choice of treatment method for nasal cavity tumors in cats depends on the type of tumor, the stage of the disease, the depth of tumor growth into healthy tissues, as well as the general condition of the cat. Radiation therapy in Russia is actively developing both in medicine and in veterinary medicine, but the level of its study and accessibility varies significantly. In veterinary practice, it remains a poorly understood and less accessible technology.
