An empirical study on AI cooperative learning model based on IPO in higher vocational Oral English teaching——Take RW Polytechnic as an example
In the context of the "Belt and Road Initiative", which is a grand and significant plan, it becomes really important to enhance or improve the oral English skills of students who are in higher vocational education. Traditional teaching modes have limitations, while the cooperative learning mode paves the way for reform. This study has constructed or built what is referred to as an AI-enhanced cooperative learning model. Two parallel classes, which are groups of students from RW Polytechnic, were selected or chosen for this study. One class used the new model, while the other class continued to follow the traditional methods that have been in place for quite some time. After pre - test, an 18 - week teaching intervention, and post - test, t - test, non - parametric test, effect size analysis, and Pearson correlation analysis were used.Findings showed similar initial oral performance between the two groups. Post - intervention, the experimental group outperformed the control group significantly. Effect size analysis indicated performance improvement, and correlation analysis verified a positive link between AI use frequency, cooperative group activity frequency, and oral scores. Therefore, it is advised that this mode which is enhanced by AI should be promoted in the context of teaching oral English in higher vocational settings. Furthermore, it would be beneficial to optimize, or perhaps improve, the management of cooperative groups. This research, in essence, provides a new path, one could argue, and also offers some empirical evidence that supports the idea of reforming the teaching methods for oral English.
