Veterinary and sanitary assessment of turkey meat during the introduction of bentonite adsorbent into the diet

This paper presents an assessment of the effectiveness of using an adsorbent based on bentonite clay “Toxin® Organic” to reduce the effect of mycotoxins on the productivity and quality of turkey meat. The experiment involved 60 turkey calves of the Hybrid converter cross, divided into three groups: a control group and two experimental ones who received Toxin® Organic in doses of 0,5 kg/t and 1,0 kg/t of compound feed. The parameters of body weight gain, preservation, slaughter and morphological parameters, as well as veterinary and sanitary parameters of turkey meat were evaluated. The results showed that the addition of “Toxin® Organic” contributes to a significant improvement in productivity, an increase in carcass weight and an improvement in organoleptic and physico-chemical parameters of meat. The conducted studies confirm the prospects of using Toxin® Organic as a feed additive to improve the safety and effectiveness of turkey breeding.
