"A Study on the Application of AI-Empowered "BOPPPS + X-Mind" Blended Teaching Model Based on OBE Philosophy in Nursing Psychology Education"
Objective: To investigate the application effect of artificial intelligence (AI) based "BOPPPS+X-Mind" blended teaching method in Nursing Psychology education under the concept of OBE education. Methods: A total of 48 nursing undergraduates from the class of 2021 were selected as the control group, while 52 nursing undergraduates from the class of 2022 were selected as the experimental group in a university in Hubei. The control group used traditional teaching methods, while the experimental group used the AI-empowered "BOPPPS+X-Mind" blended teaching method. At the end of the program, learning performance, critical thinking ability, independent learning ability, ideological and political literacy were assessed. Results: The experimental group demonstrated significantly higher performance than the control group (P < 0.05) in learning outcomes, critical thinking (specifically cognitive maturity, analytical ability, openness, and truth-seeking), independent learning ability, ideological and political literacy (specifically ideological concepts and humanistic concern). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the AI-empowered “BOPPPS+X-Mind” blended teaching method in Nursing Psychology effectively elevates learning performance while concurrently fostering critical thinking, independent learning, civic-political literacy, suggesting its scalable potential for nursing education reform.
