An Interactive Visualization Teaching Demonstration System for Probability Distributions Based on Python
Probability theory and mathematical statistics are important foundations for studying computer science, economics, and other majors. However, they contain abstract concepts and complex formulas, which makes it difficult to visually demonstrate the characteristics of various probability distributions, leading to difficulties in understanding for some students and low learning efficiency. This article aims to build an interactive probability distribution visualization teaching demonstration system using Python to assist in teaching probability and statistics. Probability calculations and random number generation are implemented based on NumPy, graphical processing is implemented based on SciPy, data visualization is based on Matplotlib, and interactive controls such as buttons, sliders, and text boxes are implemented based on Ipywidgets. The system provides visualization functions for common discrete and continuous probability distributions, including distribution type selection, distribution visualization, parameter adjustment, probability calculation, etc. It helps students understand the concepts and attributes of probability distributions and realizes the visualization of computational results, thereby enhancing learning interest and efficiency.
