Acute Subdural Haematoma Emergency Care Regarding Glial Cystic Changes: A Case Report and Literature Review
Acute subdural haematoma (AcSH): This is more of the time caused by head trauma. In this case, surgery was undertaken due to hemispheric compression induced by the subdural haematoma. The primary dilemma in this case is whether to proceed with surgery or conservative treatment and, if so, whether an intraoperative craniotomy or burr hole evacuation. A 51-year-old man was referred to the emergency room with severe dysarthria and left hemiparesis caused by a lesion in the right frontoparietal area. This resulted in rapid physical degeneration and multiple abrasions, which were recognised by the surgeon. The patient has a known medical history, including stage II and high-risk type III hypertension. A CT scan of the skull indicated AcSH associated with cystic-glial transformation areas. Furthermore, the midline shift was clarified, signalling the demand for early evacuation. Numerous circumstances can induce traumatic brain injuries, such as simple or complex falls caused by alcohol intoxication. This might be referred to as a ‘silent pandemic’ that is still occurring and is likely caused by the deaths of people in their youth, adulthood and old age due to traffic accidents. The affected region is typically harmed in older individuals with concomitant alcohol consumption, and the incapacity to remember the falls. This shows that alcohol intoxication may have momentarily impacted their memory and cognition.
