The impact of sleep quality on procrastination behavior of college students: the mediating role of fatigue and core self-evaluation
To explore the relationship between sleep quality, fatigue, core self-evaluation and procrastination among college students. Methods: A total of 742 college students were randomly selected for investigation and research. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Irrational Procrastination Scale, Fatigue Assessment Scale and Core Self-Evaluation Scale were used for investigation. This study aims to explore the relationship between sleep quality, fatigue, core self-evaluation and procrastination among college students. The data of 742 college students were analyzed using the Random Forest machine learning model and Bayesian Inference, and the mediating role of fatigue and core self-evaluation in this relationship was verified. The conclusion of the study showed that improving sleep quality may help reduce the procrastination behavior of college students, but fatigue and core self-evaluation play a key mediating role in this process. Therefore, future research can further explore psychological intervention measures, such as adjusting work and rest, reducing fatigue, and enhancing self-efficacy, to reduce the incidence of procrastination.
