Design and Implementation of Broadband Real-time Spectrum Analysis System Based on FPGA

As the electromagnetic environment becomes more and more complex and variable, the signal form is also more and more complex, and reflects the characteristics of large bandwidth and high burst. Aiming at the demand of high parallelism and high throughput data real-time calculation in broadband real-time spectrum analysis, this paper constructs a broadband real-time spectrum analysis system, which is based on the radix-2 frequency extraction algorithm, and adopts the fixed addressing method to construct the hardware structure of "pipeline and local parallel", and implements the configurability of various parameters. The system also introduces the overlapping frame module to achieve variable overlapping rate, which is conducive to the capture and analysis of short-time signals. The implementation of this broadband real-time spectrum analysis system is based on the hardware platform of AD9680 ADC and Xilinx KU085 FPGA, and its function and performance are verified. The system supports real-time processing of signals with sample rates up to 10 GSPS, instantaneous bandwidths up to 5 GHz, and overlap rates up to 75%.
