Detection of GP5+/6+ HPV Gene Amplification Using an EBiS-Based Genesensor.

Abstract Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a major pathogen linked to cancer development. In recent years, its potential involvement in prostate cancer (PCa) has been extensively studied. An EBiS-based genesensor has been proposed as a tool for detecting gene ampliGication. This study analyzed thirty prostate tissue samples from PCa-diagnosed patients at the “Hospital Central Militar” (Mexico) for GP5+/6+ HPV gene ampliGication using polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Seven samples tested positive, while twenty-three were negative. EBiS measurements, conducted within a frequency range of 100 Hz to 10 MHz, were analyzed. Phase and magnitude parameters between 10kHz and 100kHz, as well as 10 kHz and 1 MHz, respectively, demonstrated a statistically signiGicant difference in distinguishing between positive and negative cases (U-Mann Witney, p<0.05).
