Development of an AI-Based Assist System for a Cross-Border Digital Classroom

In the world of Society 5.0, students can learn together with students from other schools across classroom boundaries, regardless of physical distance, by utilizing online spaces. The role of teachers will change to that of learning coordinators who support students' learning. However, in a crossborder classroom environment, it is difficult for teachers to directly monitor all students except for the students in front of them. Therefore, in order to make dialogue in cross-border classrooms more substantial, we are researching and development of a system that collects in real time the pros and cons, the content and reasons for proposals and so on, which are spoken in each classroom. The system allows participating students and teachers to monitor the distribution and frequency of points of discussion and the opinions surrounding them in real time. At present, this system has been implemented with the function of recognizing speech in each classroom, creating summaries using generative AI, and providing them in real time.
