MIMO Control of a Twin Rotor Aerodynamical System(TRAS)

As a model developed from the helicopter, the twin rotor aerodynamical system has particular interesting dynamic features. The main difficulties in designing controllers for it follow from nonlinearities and couplings. In this paper, A black-box model is developed based on the subspace identification algorithm(N4SID). A mixed-sensitivity H∞ controller is designed to minimize the effect of disturbance and noise. There are several compensations applied to improve the performance. A reasonable experiment result is obtained.

Abstract

As a model developed from the helicopter, the twin rotor aerodynamical system has particular interesting dynamic features. The main difficulties in designing controllers for it follow from nonlinearities and couplings. In this paper, A black-box model is developed based on the subspace identification algorithm(N4SID). A mixed-sensitivity H∞ controller is designed to minimize the effect of disturbance and noise. There are several compensations applied to improve the performance. A reasonable experiment result is obtained.
