Obsesif Kompulsif Bozukluğun Bilişsel Davranışçı Terapi Ekolü İle Tedavisi: Olgu Sunumu
Obsessive compulsive disorder is a mental disorder that manifests itself with obsessions and compulsions. Cognitive behavioral therapy and drug therapy are also the most commonly used techniques in the treatment of OCD. In this study, the psychotherapy process of a client diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder, conducted with the cognitive behavioral therapy school, was discussed. It was observed that the symptoms of the client diagnosed with OCD according to the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria significantly affected the individual's daily functionality. During a total of 8 sessions conducted with the client, first a therapeutic relationship was established, then psychoeducation was provided regarding OCD and the process. Within the scope of cognitive interventions, the client's obsessive thoughts and the basic beliefs that sustained these thoughts were determined, and restructuring studies were conducted on these thoughts. Within the framework of behavioral interventions, techniques such as response prevention and exposure were applied. A decrease in the client's compulsive behaviors and a decrease in anxiety level were observed during the session. This case report provides a qualitative example supporting the fact that CBT is an effective method in the treatment of OCD.
