Braking energy recovery system for electric vehicles: coordinated optimization of range and energy efficiency
The widespread adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs) is of great importance for achieving sustainable transportation. However, the limitations in driving range and energy conversion efficiency remain key challenges to enhance market acceptance of EVs. This paper introduces an innovative electric vehicle regenerative braking energy recovery system designed to achieve the synergistic optimization of driving range and energy efficiency, thereby improving the overall energy utilization and economic performance of the vehicle. The research team has developed a multi-level energy management strategy that integrates hybrid dynamics with electromechanical braking mechanisms, achieving a high proportion of energy recovery by precisely controlling the flow of energy and the distribution of braking forces. Specific experiments involving tests on multiple EV models show that the use of this system results in an average increase in energy recovery efficiency of 15.8% and an extension of driving range by 12% under urban driving cycle conditions. In addition, the system maintains optimal braking feel and vehicle stability through real-time feedback adjustment mechanisms, ensuring the driving experience. The research was validated over a six-month period under actual road conditions, and the results indicate that the system maintains efficiency and stability across various road conditions and battery states. Synthesizing these research findings, the paper not only elucidates the theoretical feasibility and advantages of the innovative energy recovery system, but also substantiates its efficiency and applicability in practical applications through empirical data, providing an effective solution for energy efficiency management in electric vehicles. Furthermore, this study introduces a quantitative methodology for evaluating the driving experience, which includes metrics for vehicle stability, braking feel, and passenger comfort. This comprehensive approach ensures that the system not only enhances energy recovery efficiency but also maintains an optimal driving experience.
