La précarité alimentaire : quelles politiques publiques ? La politique définie par l’Union européenne / Food insecurity: what public policies? The policy defined by the European Union
Food insecurity, at the intersection of economic, social, and environmental challenges, reflects a widespread inability to access sufficient and nutritious food. While the European Union has achieved broad food security through its Common Agricultural Policy, it faces emerging issues such as rising poverty, social inequality, and increasing food prices, exacerbated by crises like the COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical conflicts. In response, the European Union has implemented social and agricultural policies, including the European Fund for Aid to the Most Deprived, to support vulnerable populations. However, addressing food waste, transitioning to sustainable agriculture, and reducing poverty remain critical global challenges. These issues require comprehensive solutions at both the European and international levels to ensure long-term food security and sustainability.
