Laparoscopic CBD Exploration: Technical Innovations
Abstract Common bile duct stones (CBDS) are seen commonly in patients undergoing Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy. The management options available for CBDS are varied ranging from open CBD exploration to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) to laparoscopic CBD exploration. The review dwells on the presentation, diagnosis and management of CBDS and discusses the advantages and disadvantages along with the technical innovations of the various treatment modalities for CBDS.
