The Modeling Characteristics and Inheritance Development of Shanxi Dough Sculpture Art Under the Perspective of Intangible Cultural Heritage - Taking the Northern Shanxi Region As Example

The art of dough sculpture is the most representative in the northern Shanxi region, and it is an indispensable art form for local folk sacrifices festival gifts, and ceremonial occasions.The folk culture and local customs in this area are closely linked, containing elements of belief and worship.Therefore, dough sculpture has a carrier and medium of folk culture in this area.The research direction of this paper is to explore the representation of the beauty of dough sculpture in the northern Shan region.This paper combines field visits, interviews with folk artists, review of relevant literature, and image collection to understand the dough sculpture art in northern Shanxi, analyzes the modeling symbols and inheritance development of dough sculpture.It analyzes the aesthetic forms, concepts, and folk culture connotations contained in the modeling symbols of dough art in northern Shanxi, and considers how to continuously innovate and develop dough sculpture art in the new era.
