Research Progress on the Relationship between Time within the Target Range of Glucose and Diabetes-Related Complications

Time in range (TIR) of glucose has become an important indicator for evaluating the blood glucose control level of diabetic patients, with the wide application of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology. TIR not only reflects the average blood glucose level of patients but also reveals the fluctuation of blood glucose, which is of great significance for the prevention, early detection and intervention of diabetic complications. This article reviews the recent research progress on TIR and its association with diabetes-related complications, aiming to provide new perspectives and a theoretical basis for the clinical management of diabetes-related complications.
