Digital risk management in housing construction projects: a case analysis approach

With the urban–rural integration accelerating, risk management of housing construction projects has become a hot issue. Traditional housing engineering project risk management lacks a comprehensive risk management system and dynamic monitoring methods. Therefore, to solve these problems, the objective of the study is to construct a digital control model of risk based on building information modelling using overhanging scaffolding in house construction as the research object. The average accuracy of the digital risk control model for cantilever scaffolding constructed for risk identification during the construction process is 82.39%. The average accuracy of the traditional building information modelling is 73.06%. And this model was used to compare the horizontal displacement curves of three different node load cycles. During 0–1 s, the extreme horizontal displacement values of each node on the scaffold’s outer side at three nodes are all smaller than the corresponding inner nodes. It indicates that this model has timeliness in real-time risk monitoring and control of nodes between the cantilever scaffold and the building. This verifies the application effect of this model in the risk digital control of housing construction projects. It aims to provide new research ideas for digital risk management throughout the entire construction process of housing construction projects.
