The high degree of digitalization information has profoundly changed the operational mode of human society. The wide popularity of the Internet has greatly enhanced the convenience of citizens’ work and life, but widely used digital information has also made the problem of citizens’ privacy leakage increasingly prominent. Against this backdrop, how to effectively protect citizens’ privacy rights from a legal perspective has become an important issue that needs to be urgently addressed. This article, based on the background of the digital information age and starting from reality, deeply explores the necessity of protecting citizens’ privacy rights and the current predicaments they are facing, and emphasizes the need to clarify the relevant boundaries of privacy rights at the legislative level, strengthen technical protection of privacy, and impose penalties for the abuse of privacy information.
