Cervical dysplasia as a socio-medical problem: an intersectoral perspective of prevention

To investigate cervical dysplasia as a socio-medical problem and analyze the effectiveness of multisectoral approaches to its prevention in Ukraine. Methods: A review of current literature, official reports and scientific publications on the epidemiology of cervical dysplasia, preventive measures (vaccination against human papillomavirus and screening), as well as social determinants of health that affect the incidence was conducted. Results: It has been established that cervical dysplasia remains an important medical and social problem in Ukraine due to the lack of effectiveness of preventive measures, unequal access to health care services and low coverage of HPV vaccination. Socio-economic barriers, cultural characteristics, and inequalities in access to screening have a significant impact on morbidity and mortality. A multisectoral approach that combines health, education, and social protection measures is key to improving prevention. Conclusions: Effective control of cervical dysplasia requires the implementation of comprehensive multisectoral programs focused on improving access to vaccination and screening, overcoming social barriers, and raising public awareness of cervical cancer prevention.
