Superplastic Properties and Deformation Mechanisms of Ti60 Titanium Alloy under Coupled Temperature and Strain Rate Conditions
High‐temperature tensile tests and electron backscatter diffraction analysis are employed to investigate the hot deformation behavior and microstructural evolution of Ti60 titanium alloy under 940–1000 °C and strain rates of 5 ×10 −4 s −1 × 10 −2 /s. First, a record‐breaking superplastic elongation of 337% is achieved under 940 °C and 5 × 10 −4 /s. Second, microstructural analysis reveals temperature/strain‐rate dependencies in recrystallization mechanisms: continuous dynamic recrystallization (CDRX) dominates at lower strain rates/higher temperatures, while discontinuous dynamic recrystallization (DDRX) becomes prevalent under opposing conditions. Low‐angle grain boundaries (2°–15°) progressively transform into high‐angle boundaries (HAGBs) through CDRX, promoting equiaxed grain formation. Superplastic deformation primarily involves CDRX facilitated by intragranular dislocation motion and moderate grain boundary slip, enhancing HAGB development. Critical experimental advances include flow curves exhibited peak stress followed by softening and stabilization, with maximum superplastic elongation reaching 337% at optimal conditions (940 °C, 5 × 10 −4 /s). A constitutive model and processing map are established, identifying favorable deformation parameters as 940–960 °C and 0.0005–0.001 s −1 strain rates, corresponding to peak strain‐rate sensitivity ( m ) and energy dissipation efficiency ( η ). These findings establish processing–structure–property relationships for optimizing Ti60 alloy forming processes.
