Study on damage assessment of small unmanned aerial vehicles by shrapnel shells

In order to obtain the destructive efficacy of shrapnel on a small UAV, this paper takes a small quadrotor UAV as a target, analyzes the target functional and structural characteristics, and establishes a model of the destructive level, destructive tree and destructive law. The power model of shrapnel was established, and the numerical simulation of the flying dispersion of shrapnel fragments was carried out by using the finite element method. The damage probability under a certain degree of damage was obtained by the damage effectiveness calculation method, and the example calculation was carried out. The calculation results show that the probability of UAV being destroyed decreases with the increase of the projectile detonation distance.
