Optimization of Vehicle Scheduling within the Port Using Dedicated Foldable Frame Containers
Recent years have seen a steady increase in China's vehicle export volume, prompting innovation in the field of export logistics. This study proposes an optimization of port operation scheduling for export vehicles, with a view to minimizing total waiting time. The approach adopted involves the consideration of parking capacity, value-added services, and loading operations of foldable specialized frame carriers. To this end, an integer programming model and a column generation-based optimization algorithm have been developed, the purpose of which is to derive optimal scheduling schemes. The efficacy of the algorithm has been confirmed through the execution of tests on datasets of varying scales, with particular emphasis on large-scale problems. Sensitivity analyses were conducted to assess the impact of various factors on scheduling, including parking capacity, operational frame carriers, and shuttle vehicles. The findings of this study contribute to the enhancement of port operation efficiency, the reduction of resource wastage, and the support of vehicle export growth.
