Investigation of layer combination of grouted semi-flexible composite pavement

Grouted composite pavement is a new type of pavement, which has the ability to improve the rutting resistance of pavement. At present, there is a lack of comprehensive research on the utilization level of grouted composite pavement materials. This study attempts to create a 3D pavement structure model using ABAQUS finite element software to accurately replicate the real stress on the pavement. Using this model, we studied in depth the fluctuations in the surface deflection of the pavement, as well as the tensile stress and strain at the base of the model, especially when applying grout composite pavement to different layers. Our findings show that the addition of grout composite pavement material to the road structure can significantly reduce pavement deformation, and the best improvements are achieved when the material is applied to the upper and middle layers. On the contrary, the application of the lower surface layer will cause excessive tensile stress on its base layer, which will cause damage to the entire pavement structure.
