How Relationship Management Moderates Burnout and Health Harm in the Indonesian Workplace: Emotional Intelligence View

This study examines the relationship between burnout and health harm in the workplace, with a focus on the moderating role of relationship management within emotional intelligence. A survey of 740 employees in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia, was conducted, using structural equation modeling (SEM) and partial least square (PLS) methodology to analyze the data. The results show a strong positive relationship between burnout and health harm but no significant moderating effect of relationship management. This suggests that while emotional intelligence may enhance interpersonal dynamics, it is not sufficient to mitigate the health risks associated with burnout. The study contributes to the limited literature on burnout and emotional intelligence in Indonesia, highlighting the need for direct interventions, such as workload adjustments and employee support programs. Future research could examine other factors that might moderate this relationship.
