ML-Based Image Recognition Platform for Detecting Forbidden Items in Airports
A significant challenge faced at airports and similar venues is the detection of dangerous items, such as sharp weapons and firearms, within travelers' luggage. This study focuses on analyzing X-ray images of luggage to identify the presence of prohibited items, which include guns, knives, wrenches, pliers, and scissors. Our approach leverages machine learning principles and neural networks to create and implement our model. The Mobile App boasts a response time of 0.13 seconds, while the Desktop App has a response time of 0.54 seconds. The Mobile App achieves an accuracy rate of 79%, and the Desktop App reaches 91%.
