Advanced Approaches of the JAYA Algorithm for Single Diode Model Parameter Optimization: A Comparative Study
The accurate extraction of parameters from photovoltaic (PV) cells and modules is essential for optimizing solar system performance and maximizing energy efficiency. This study evaluates the performance, stability, and robustness of three well-cited JAYA algorithm variants: DWJAYA, PGJAYA, and LCJAYA. The comparative analysis is based on root mean square error (RMSE) and a non-parametric statistical study. The results indicate that DWJAYA achieves the lowest RMSE of 9.860219 × 10−4 with minimal standard deviation (4.2 × 10−17), demonstrating remarkable precision and stability. In contrast, LCJAYA exhibits a higher RMSE variability, with values ranging from 9.860220 × 10−4 to 3.242582 × 10−3, and PGJAYA shows slight variations but remains close to DWJAYA. Furthermore, a non-parametric statistical analysis confirms the superiority of DWJAYA, as it significantly outperforms both LCJAYA and PGJAYA (p-value 1.73 × 10−6). These findings establish DWJAYA as a robust and reliable alternative for PV parameter extraction, offering enhanced accuracy, stability, and resilience to variations in initial conditions. This work underscores the potential of DWJAYA as an advanced optimization tool for photovoltaic system modeling, contributing to improved renewable energy technologies.
