Comparative Seismic Analysis of a 9-Story Steel Structure with and without Bracing Using Pushover Analysis
In the field of seismic design, steel structures are favored for their flexibility and strength. This study examines the seismic performance of a nine-story steel frame building by comparing two configurations: one without bracing and the other featuring X and V bracing systems at its core. Using a structural analysis software, we conducted pushover analyses to explore how bracing affects the structure's stiffness, fundamental period, and lateral displacement. The numerical results reveal notable differences in structural behavior, underscoring the vital role that bracing plays in enhancing seismic performance.
