Stability analysis of functionally graded polymer nanocomposite plates reinforced with graphene oxide powder

This paper provides an analytical analysis of the mechanical buckling of functionally graded (FG) nanocomposite plates reinforced with graphene oxide powder (GOP) under uniaxial and biaxial loads. The Halpin-Tsai micromechanical model is used to derive the effective material properties of the nanocomposite plate, taking into account the continuous variation through thickness. This study comparatively evaluates four GOP distribution models uniform (U), X, V, and O to identify the most efficient approach for enhancing the structure's stability limit. The equations governing the plate were developed based on first-order shear deformation plate theory, using Hamilton's principle, and solved analytically via Navier's solution for a simply supported powder-reinforced nanocomposite plate graphene oxide (GOP). Parametric studies are performed to examine the effects of GOP weight fraction, aspect ratio, thickness ratio, and GOP distribution patterns.
