Privacy in Focus: The Role of Accessible Language and Interface Design in Users' Perceptions of Data Protection
Although traditional privacy policies are the most common resource for communicating to data subjects about the collection and processing of personal information, these texts are often long and difficult for users to understand. The aim of this article is to analyze how the accessibility and clarity of information on data protection policies in software interfaces influences users' perceptions of privacy through a literature review. As a result, the methods investigated proved to be potential factors that increase data subjects' understanding of privacy policies and, consequently, increase the assertiveness of choices in the act of informed consent.
