From Emotion to Action: The Impact of Digital Emotional Intelligence and Digital Communication on Digital Teamwork among Indonesian Employees

This study examines how Digital Emotional Intelligence (DEI) and Digital Communication (DC) affect Digital Teamwork (DTW) in modern companies. Knowing digital teamwork principles is crucial as companies increasingly use virtual collaboration. Using a cross-sectional survey of Greater Jakarta employees, the study examined DEI's direct impact on DTW and DC's mediating role. Structural equation modelling (SEM) results show that directly and indirectly, DEI affects DTW by improving communication, emphasizing DEI as a key skill for digital cooperation. The findings show that emotional intelligence in digital environments improves communication, creating a harmonious and productive workplace. This study adapts emotional intelligence and communication theories to digital working environments to emphasize DEI and DC in virtual teamwork models. Practical implications suggest companies should support DEI and digital communication training to improve teamwork. Cross-sectional design and regional focus limit insights into digital teamwork in many environments. Future studies could use longitudinal and cross-cultural approaches.
