Design of a wireless battery charging system for electric vehicles

The modeling and simulation of a wireless charging system for electric vehicles operating at the standardized frequency of 85 kHz. The system capable of charging without using a charging cable, using only a magnetic field with a coupling coefficient of 0.57 and a coil distance of 0.2m to enable efficient contactless power transfer. The system consists of two main parts. The first part is the power supply circuit connected to a 380V/50Hz supply, which uses power converters such as an AC/DC converter (rectifier) and DC/AC converters (inverter). The proposed system can deliver 6624W of consistent charging power with a steady current of 19A to a 150Ah lithium-ion battery rated at 320V. The wireless charging system is implemented through carefully designed power converters, resonant coupling circuitry, and mathematical modeling of mutual inductance between the coils. The power supply circuit was simulated using MATLAB Simulink.
