Feast of Flowers: Race, Labor, and Postcolonial Capitalism in Ecuador
A Feast of Flowers: Race, Labor, and Postcolonial Capitalism is a book I wish I had read before completing my research on life alternatives in Ecuador. It masterfully describes the canton of Cayambe in northern Ecuador, where I conducted my research, while offering a historical materialist analysis of class and race relations in shaping "postcolonial capitalism" in the country.Discovering such rich ethnography was a pleasant surprise.
