The Impact of Project Management Practices on the Successful Establishment of UAV Projects in the Defense Sector

This article researches the relation of project management methodologies with the successful development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) projects in the defense industry, with an emphasis on explicit compliance with norms and regulations, stakeholders' involvement, and resources management. This research synthesizes both qualitative and quantitative data—based on a mixed-methods framework—by adding the findings obtained from observation and document analysis, hereby offering a much more expansive insight into these critical areas of difficulties and practices. Similarly, sudden or previously non-existent regulatory compliance by the regulator may cause project delays up to 15-20%, whereas a lack of alignment between stakeholders affects timelines by as much as 24%. On the other hand, resource inefficiencies are found to delay projects by up to 30-100%. This research highlights the significance of proficient management strategies, offering essential perspectives on improving project schedules and increasing success rates in defense UAV initiatives. The suggestions focus on the necessity of prioritizing resource allocation to facilitate prompt project finalization while ensuring coherence with broader strategic goals.
