PAPEL DA FISIOTERAPIA NA INCONTINÊNCIA URINÁRIA DE ESFORÇO
Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is a prevalent condition that primarily affects women, impairing their physical, emotional, and social quality of life. This study aimed to analyze the role of physiotherapy in the treatment of SUI, highlighting the most commonly used techniques and their effects on patients' functional recovery. A narrative literature review was conducted, selecting five studies published between 2019 and 2020, which addressed physiotherapeutic interventions such as Pelvic Floor Muscle Training (PFMT), electrostimulation, biofeedback, and combined methods. The results demonstrated that PFMT is the main conservative approach, effective both in isolated protocols and when combined with other techniques, promoting symptom reduction and improved quality of life. Additionally, treatment adherence and professional supervision were identified as essential factors for therapeutic success. It is concluded that physiotherapy is fundamental in managing SUI, offering a safe, effective, and accessible alternative for affected women.
