Pioneering Sustainable Production: Innovative Drilling Strategy with Maximum Reservoir Contact Techniques
A new concept well strategy delivery was developed via a progressive approach of utilizing existing resources to reduce costs, decrease carbon emissions, and minimize man hours, all while targeting peak oil production without requiring any additional infrastructure of surface facilities. This comprehensive project involved a collective endeavor of advanced techniques such as extending Maximum Reservoir Contact (MRC), implementing conductor sharing wells design, and deploying smart liners. This project represents a fusion of modern concepts aimed at safe well delivery, fulfilling technical efficiency, embracing sustainable operational methods, and pushing the boundaries of drilling limits. The strategic approach was meticulously crafted to unlock the full potential of reservoir value, thereby achieving ambitious corporate targets. This project was initiated to meet the stringent requirements of targeted production rates essential for attaining corporate goals. The initial challenges included accelerating well hook-up to achieve early production, managing limited slots in the surface facilities to accommodate the necessary number of wells, overcoming limited production rates from individual wells, extending reservoir reachability, enhancing efficiency for rig utilization, and mitigating interruptions in production caused by project development activities on wellhead towers. The primary objective was to deliver these innovative drilling techniques while maintaining overall well and asset integrity within optimized timeframes and costs. Through a combination of advanced technology, strategic planning, and a commitment to excellence, the project aimed to revolutionize well delivery processes and set new standards in the industry.
