Nickel(II) Chloride Catalyzed and Tetrahydroxydiboron Promoted Denitrative Difluoroalkylation of β‐Nitrovinylarene
Abstract The difluoromethylene (CF 2 ) group is a highly valuable structural unit that significantly contributes to the research and development of novel pharmaceuticals. This work presents an effective synthesis of CF 2 ‐containing compounds from β‐nitrostyrene, facilitated by nickel chloride and tetrahydroxydiboron. The approach is simple, efficient, and highly selective, thus providing a novel strategy for the utilization of β‐nitrostyrene.
