Radiological assessment of livestock products in areas adjacent to the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site
The article presents the results of the radiation examination of vet supervision facilities selected in the territories of the Nuclear Power Plant of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which were transferred for economic use. Radioactive contamination of agricultural land varies significantly in the composition of radionuclides, which makes this study particularly valuable. The paper considers the content of 137Cs and 90Sr in the organs and tissues of cattle, which vary greatly depending on the areas where farm animals are kept. It was found that the specific activity of 137Cs and 90Sr was within acceptable levels.
