Enhancing Scientific Aptitude in Students through a Comparative Analysis of Multimedia-Based Teaching and Traditional Methods in Science Education

Objectives: This study will compare the effectiveness of multimedia based teaching in comparison to traditional teaching in developing the scientific aptitude in the science students. Methods: 100 high school science students designed into two distinct groups; with one receiving multimedia-based instruction and the other standard instruction. The new method utilized interactive videos, simulations, and digital presentations, whereas the conventional group depended on lectures and textbooks. To measure the degree to which the scientific aptitude had improved, Pre- and post-tests were utilized, whilst feedback was received from the student’s to determine engagement level. Adaptations of curricular-aligned multimedia tools to the needs of students. Findings: In the end, students taught through multimedia showed significant improvement in their scientific aptitude compared to students taught in a traditional manner. The multimedia group also saw more engagement and interest in science topics. On average, students in the multimedia group scored 25% better than average on the post-test scientific reasoning and problem-solving skills compared to 12% better on the traditional group. Novelty: Supports explanation: No doubt this study spotlights multimedia tools that can revolutionize science education through the lens of modern philosophy of science education that differs from classical epistemology-oriented pedagogy. Keywords: Multimedia-Based Teaching, Scientific Aptitude, Science Education, Student Engagement, Traditional Methods, Interactive Learning
