Types of English Core Competence in Aircraft Maintenance Majors in Vocational Colleges: Based on Latent Profile Analysis
The analysis of students' English core competence is the foundation of English curriculum teaching reform, and it also plays an important role in the high-quality development of vocational education.Based on Bachman's communicative language ability model, this paper makes a latent profile analysis (LPA) of the English core competence of aircraft maintenance students from four dimensions: language comprehension ability, language expression ability, language awareness, and language thinking ability. The results are divided into four types: potential type, growing type, aggressive type, and balanced type.Students' English core competence in this major is mainly the aggressive type.Different types have their distribution in the classification variables, which proves the value of classifying and exploring the types and differences of English core competence in vocational students and provides evidence for English teaching reform in vocational college.
